Lord, you shield me with your saving help. Your help has made me great. – 2 Samuel 22:36
Let me just say that God is good. And while is is an extremely awesome new year, I am still dying to shake off some things from last year. But, that is why I pray as much as I do.
I know that if I don’t, it will just get to me. And I really do not like the person that I become when I let things get to me.
This year, I am really trying to do things differently this year. The things that I want to do differently focus on my marriage, faith, blog, and education.
My goals are to pray more, exercise more, eat better, and spending more time with my husband and children. To accomplish these goals, I have decided on having two technology free days a week. Which will mean 2 days a week with no phone or tablet. This is something that I honestly thought would be really difficult but, it isn’t.
On Monday, I actually went three hours without touching or messing with my iPad. I did this because the work that I had set out to do for the day, I had completed.
I think that we become so wrapped up in our phones and tablets that we forget to actually have conversations with our family members. This has been exceptionally true when it comes to my marriage. It seems as if my husband and I rely so much on the technology that we have the we tend to essentially forget about each other. And when this happens inside a marriage, it means that there is no communication.
So, I am making the choice to step away from my iPad in order to put more time into my marriage and into my family. I know that it will not be easy but, I know that with faith and God, that I can do it.
So, have yo ever had to step away from something before? How did that make you feel? How did you accomplish this task and are you still doing it? Comment below and let me know. I would love to hear your side of things.Tags: education, faith, family, goals, God, goodness, kids, marriage, parenting, step away
